Camp Bulldog, retailer UNIQLO to hand out clothes in Lindenhurst

Lindenhurst residents affected by superstorm Sandy will be able to bring home free coats and heat-generating innerwear by retailer UNIQLO this weekend.
The South Shore community was chosen by the global brand as a recipient for part of its 10-week Sandy relief campaign; and Camp Bulldog, the grassroots relief effort in Lindenhurst, is coordinating the distribution, said Andrea Curran, one of the camp’s founders.
Thousands of down jackets and parkas for men and women, and HEATTECH long-sleeve shirts and tights for women and children will be given out. Recipients will be allowed one set of items each.
The giveaway will take place on Saturday, Feb. 2 beginning at 11 a.m. in two locations. Camp Bulldog will be closed, so volunteers can help with distribution.
Residents of Babylon and Lindenhurst who live south of Montauk Highway can pick up items at Harding Avenue Elementary School, 2 Harding Ave. in Lindenhurst.
Residents of Amityville and Copiague who live south of Montauk Highway should go to the Knights of Columbus Hall, 400 S. Broadway, in Lindenhurst.
Each location will be open from 11 a.m. until supplies run out.
Photo identification and proof of address will be required.
