Tuesday’s runoff election between two Oysterponds School District Board of Education candidates who had tied in the May school vote has been canceled.
Candidate Betsy Dzenkowski has withdrawn her candidacy, district officials said Thursday, with the vacant board seat going to Dorothy-Dean Thomas.
Both Thomas and Dzenkowski received 157 votes in the May 21 election. Thomas is the current board president and has served on the board for three years.
