Hempstead Town’s child car seat inspection program, which will visit communities around the town this summer, will begin June 5 in Uniondale.

The free program will allow the town’s “child passenger safety technicians” to “properly install child car safety seats and educate guardians on their proper installation,” town officials said in a statement.

The program will take place in Uniondale Park, 710 Uniondale Ave., on June 5 and 6. The other June dates are June 12 and 15 in Baldwin Park, 3232 S. Grand Ave., Baldwin; June 19-20 in Rath Park, 849 Fenworth Blvd., Franklin Square; and June 26-27 in Forest City Community Park, 3099 Morgan Drive, Wantagh.

July, August, September and October dates are available at www.toh.li/. The inspections are available by appointment between 9 a.m. and 2 p.m.

Appointments can be set up by calling the town’s public safety department at 516-538-1900, ext. 217.
