The Cardinals filled the NFL's final head-coaching vacancy by hiring Colts offensive coordinator Bruce Arians. The team confirmed the hiring in a release last night, saying Arians, 60, received a four-year contract with a club option for a fifth year.

The longtime assistant went 9-3 as Colts interim head coach while Chuck Pagano was undergoing treatment for leukemia this season. Arians said it taught him that being a head coach is "not as hard as it's supposed to be."

Arians will replace Ken Whisenhunt, who was fired after six seasons. The Chargers hired Whisenhunt yesterday as their offensive coordinator.

Jaguars hire Bradley

The Jaguars hired Seattle defensive coordinator Gus Bradley as coach. The Seahawks replaced him by hiring Dan Quinn away from Florida. He coached Seattle's defensive line in 2009 and 2010.

Browns hire Norv as OC

The Browns named Norv Turner offensive coordinator. Turner, who was fired by the Chargers, was 59-43 in six years in San Diego with three division titles.

Broncos make Gase OC

The Broncos have hired an offensive coordinator -- and no, his name isn't Peyton Manning. Their former quarterbacks coach, Adam Gase, will call the plays instead of Mike McCoy, who left this week to coach the Chargers.

Marinelli leaves Bears

Rod Marinelli won't return as the Bears' defensive coordinator. New coach Marc Trestman said Marinelli has "made up his mind to move on. I would have hoped Rod would have stayed here."
