Carey senior midfielder Greg D'Arienzo, who is headed to the University of Maryland for lacrosse, is done for this season with a broken collar bone.

D'Arienzo, a two-way midfielder, suffered the injury in Carey's first scrimmage this spring. It's a setback for him and for Carey, which finished 7-9 last year.

Carey was the preseason No. 7 seed in Nassau Conference B-I by the county coaches. The Seahawks have opened the season with non-league losses to Oceanside, Massapequa and Friends Academy.
