Carnival, vendors at annual Bellmore street festival
The Chamber of Commerce of the Bellmores will host the 26th annual Bellmore Family Street Festival starting Thursday and running through Sunday.
The carnival portion of the festival will be Thursday and Friday starting at 6 p.m. at the Long Island Rail Road’s Bellmore Station on Sunrise Highway between Bedford and Centre avenues. Carnival rides will run continuously with the festival on Saturday and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. The rain date is Oct. 18-21.
There will be several exhibits and attractions including kids games, a petting zoo, pony rides, racing pigs, costumed characters, an auto show, live entertainment, dancing, and fitness and karate demos. There will also be a military exposition featuring the Orange County Chopper and expos on home improvement, business, sports, and emergency services.
More than 120 vendors selling handcrafted items and various foods will also be featured, organizers said.
