Caruso helps North Babylon top West Babylon
Anthony Caruso went 2-for-3 with three RBIs to lead North Babylon over West Babylon, 5-1, Wednesday in non-league baseball and the "North-West Babylon Cup" trophy game.
Luke Noone went 3-for-4 with a run and Nate Trashansky was 1-for-2 with a homer and two RBIs. North Babylon (1-0) scored three runs in the fifth inning to break a tie at 1. Mike Lyon allowed three hits and struck out three in three innings of relief to get the win.
Sachem North 5, Patchogue-Medford 2: Dan D'Orazio allowed two runs and seven hits and struck out four in six innings for Sachem North (1-0) in non-league. He was 1-for-2 with a double and a run and Brian Hennelly went 1-for-2 with two RBIs.
Rocky Point 12, Bellport 5: Joe DeFrank went 3-for-4 with three runs and two RBIs to lead Rocky Point (1-0) in non-league. Anthony Zitaglio went 2-for-4 with a triple and two RBIs.
Cold Spring Harbor 6, Wheatley 2: Kenny Lamb allowed two runs and six hits and struck out six for Cold Spring Harbor (1-2) in Nassau Conference BC. Matt Bertuch went 2-for-3 with a home run and two RBIs and Steven Ambrosino (2-for-4) had a home run and three RBIs.
Oyster Bay 9, Locust Valley 0: Chris Kelly allowed seven hits and struck out two for Oyster Bay (2-0) in Conference BC. Will Trieber had two RBIs. Jack Robinson had an RBI triple and Joe Saringo had a two-run single in a six-run first inning for Oyster Bay. Locust Valley is 0-2.
softballMacArthur 7, Oceanside 0: Kristen Brown pitched a two-hitter with three walks and 17 strikeouts to lead MacArthur (1-0) in AA-II. Jenna Cozza went 4-for-4 with a triple and three runs.
Wantagh 3, Manhasset 2: Katie Marsman doubled in Christine Keifer with the winning run in the eighth for Wantagh (1-0) in ABC-III. Kristen Leung hit a two-run double with two outs in the seventh to tie the score at 2. Jaclyn Vicente allowed four hits and an earned run and struck out 10 to get the win.

Chaminade 3, St. Francis Prep 0: Sagar Beharry had 15 kills and Mike Lobben had 28 assists to lead Chaminade (2-0) to a 25-14, 25-20, 25-20 victory. Kristian Nielson added 13 aces and Brian Veltre had 25 assists.
West Hempstead 3, Uniondale 2: Danny Minto had 12 kills and six blocks and Ben Abelido had 27 assists and six aces to lead West Hempstead to a 25-13, 25-13, 18-25, 20-25, 25-22 win.
