Regarding "Game of chance" [News, April 19]: Are you kidding me? Who is driving this train? A casino is not the answer to the fiscal troubles we're facing in Nassau County.
The county has said "no" to bringing in professional sports and creating a conducive environment for that, and it also rejected the movie and entertainment professions, which could have provided jobs and generated an economy all by themselves.
Instead, the plan is to build a casino where the working class will have numerous ways to gamble away their hard-earned salaries, as if the sucker bet of the lottery weren't enough. Like I said, are you kidding me?
