Celebration of Kings Park Fire Department 100th anniversary on docket for civic meeting today

Plans for the 100th anniversary commemoration of the Kings Park Fire Department will be discussed during a Kings Park Civic Association meeting today at 7:30 p.m. at Kings Park High School.
Organizers are planning an Aug. 3 concert, including fireworks and a carousel on the grounds of the R.J.O. Intermediate School and William T. Rogers Middle School, both on Old Dock Road.
The civic association tonight also plans to discuss ideas for other events. In recent years, Kings Park has hosted an annual summer concert series and a weekly farmer’s market.
The meeting will update residents on issues such as the proposed Uplands assisted living facility and efforts by the Town of Smithtown to stop work at concrete contractor KPE II.
