A wet playing field forced the postponement last weekend of the Artists and Writers Softball Game, held every year in East Hampton Village. The game is rescheduled for Saturday at 2 p.m. at Herricks Park. Practice starts around noon.

Among the celebrities expected to play — there are more than 30 on the roster for each side — are Josh Charles, Mark Feuerstein and Lori Singer for the artists team, and Carl Bernstein, George Stephanopoulos and Mike Lupica for the writers team.

The event is a charity fundraiser, and a $10 donation is recommended for spectators.

The money benefits four local charities: East End Hospice, the East End Day Care Learning Center, Phoenix House, and The Retreat, a shelter for victims of domestic violence. There will be food and raffles.
