Center Moriches, Stony Brook advance
Center Moriches won its first Long Island Class B championship with a 41-19 win over Locust Valley at St. Joseph's College. Amber Davis scored 12 points, Kelsey Glanzman had 10 points and 12 rebounds and Jessica Bandrowski scored eight points for Center Moriches (17-7). The Red Devils limited Locust Valley to seven second-half points, including one in the final 7:40 of the game. Center Moriches will play Irvington at 6:15 p.m. Friday in the Southeast Regional final at Pace University in Pleasantville. The winner advances to the state semifinals in Troy.
Stony Brook won its second consecutive Long Island Class championship with a 49-36 win over East Rockaway. Brannon Burke scored 19 and Sadie Singer scored 14. Stony Brook will play North Salem at 3 p.m. Friday at Pace in a Southeast Regional final. The winner advances to the state semifinals in Troy.
