A heated fight over live chickens has come to an end in Great Neck.

Alfred Basal brought home six chicks for his children, despite a village law forbidding residents to keep farm animals. Basal tried to fight the village code, but at a public hearing last month, the village board of trustees declined to modify the law.

According to Newsday, Basal has now moved his chickens to the Old Bethpage Village Restoration.
