Christina Tiongson, Our Lady of Mercy Academy - February 2011 Scholar Artist for Nassau County
Christina Tiongson, a senior at Our Lady of Mercy Academy in Syosset, has been dancing since she was four years old. She has participated in several training programs such as the Rockette Summer Dance Intensive. As Vice-President of the Mercy Dance Company, and its former Jazz and Tap Captain, she honed her skills as a choreographer, creating jazz, tap and ballet pieces for both its senior and junior dance companies.
A member of her school’s “Principal’s List” each semester for the past three years, Tina is also a member of the National Honor Society and the National Spanish Honor Society. In college, she intends to combine her love of science and math with the pursuit of an engineering degree and plans to continue dancing as well.
