Nassau County Executive Edward Mangano will help Gov. Andrew M. Cuomo and the Christmas Tree Growers Association distribute about 100 Christmas trees to county residents in the Bay Park area today at 5 p.m.
The association made the contribution for Nassau residents, many of whom are still recovering from superstorm Sandy.
The trees will be given to families — first-come, first-served — as they arrive at the boat launch parking lot on Marjorie Lane in Bay Park, East Rockaway.
Mangano thanked Cuomo and the association for spreading holiday cheer during a traumatic time for Nassau County.
“It is important that we continue to remember our neighbors this holiday season, and I have been so touched by the outpouring of support,” Mangano said. “Together we will get through this dark time.”
