CHSAA Softball Power Rankings

The top five teams in CHSAA based on games played through April 18:
1. Kellenberg (10-0)
The Firebirds are marching towards a second-straight CHSAA league title. After making Long Island proud with a perfect 3-0 upstate trip in the Mudville Tournament, they returned home and continued to dominate the local teams. Krista King went 4-for-5 with three RBIs in a 7-1 win over Holy Trinity. Susan Pardo (pictured) tossed a one-hitter in a 4-3 win over St. John the Baptist. Caitlin Kennedy struck out 12 in a 9-2 victory over Sacred Heart. Sabrina DeAngelis had 10 K’s in an 11-1 win over St. Mary’s as Kellenberg improved to 10-0 in league play.
2. St. Anthony’s (8-2)
Aileen Riley helped the Frairs rebound from a 4-3 loss to St. John the Baptist. She tossed a one-hit shutout with 11 strikeouts in a 2-0 win over Our Lady of Mercy. Lindsey Corriss capped a three-run, two-out rally with a walk-off single as the Friars came from behind to beat Holy Trinity, 6-5. Joanna Chalifous went 3-for-5 with five RBIs and Taylor Brown went 4-for-5 with three RBIs to lead St. Anthony's to a 13-3 win over Sacred Heart.
3. St. John the Baptist (7-3)
Sofia Evangelista and Kelly Whalen each hit two-run doubles to give St. John the Baptist a 4-3 win in a statement game over St. Anthony’s. Katie Hoffman threw a complete game with 11 strikeouts and went 3-for-4 in a 7-6 win over Sacred Heart. Baptist fell to Kellenberg, 4-3, but recovered with a solid 4-0 win over Our Lady of Mercy behind a three-hit, 11 strikeout performance by Kaitlin Hoffmann.
4. Our Lady of Mercy (5-4)
OLMA got blanked by Aileen Riley of St. Anthony’s and Kaitlin Hoffmann of St. John the Baptist but had a dramatic 10-8 win over St. Dominic as Kasey Harrington went 2-for-4 with three RBIs, including a go-ahead, two-run triple in the top of the seventh.
5. St. Dominic (4-5)
St. Dominic started the week with a 6-0 win over St. Mary’s as Amanda Finn allowed just two hits and struck out seven and Kristina Barbari went 2-for-3 with a triple and Maria Batas went 2-for-3 with an RBI. But they lost a slugfest to Our Lady of Mercy, 10-8, then fell to Holy Trinity, 2-1.
