Sarah Cornell tossed a no-hitter with 16 strikeouts and four walks as Clarke shut out Syosset, 4-0, in its non-league opener in softball Monday.

Brooke Wood went 2-for-4 and an RBI in the win.

Floral Park 12, Valley Stream North 0: Sam Giovannello walked one and struck out 11 in a five-inning no-hitter for Floral Park in non-league. Angelica Titor went 3-3 with two triples, two runs and three RBIs, and Riley Anderson went 2-3 with a home run and two RBIs.

New Hyde Park 6, Carey 5: Shelby Platia brought home Marissa Pugliese with a two-out single in the bottom of the seventh to win it for New Hyde Park in non-league. Kristi Kofler had an RBI-triple in the fifth inning to give NHP a 3-2 lead and Kristin Hickey had two RBIs for the Gladiators.

Carle Place 1, Bethpage 0: Courtney Mulcare scored the winning run in the bottom of the 10th inning to lift Carle Place in its non-league opener. Ashley Cole, behind a stout Carle Place defense, struck out 10, walked two and scattered eight hits.Manhasset 15, Garden City 13: Alex Wisota was 5-for-6 including a walk-off, two-run home run in the bottom of the ninth to win it for Manhasset in non-league. Ally Hart surrendered three earned runs and struck out three in a complete game for Manhasset.

Oceanside 4, Valley Stream South 2: Jeannie Callanan had a two-run single in the top of the fifth to break a tie at 2 for Oceanside in non-league.

Clarke 19, Uniondale 10: Senior Shane Wilson had a school-record eight goals and five assists and Mike Matiello added five goals, three assists and won 16 faceoffs to lead Clarke in non-league.Valley Stream District 9, Wheatley 8: Terry Gagstetter scored the winning goal with two minutes left to lead Valley Stream District in non-league. Jesse Oppenheimer added five goals for VSD.West Hempstead 8, Long Island Lutheran 1: Senior Danny Sheeler had a career-high six goals for West Hempstead in non-league.GIRLS LACROSSE

Deer Park 13, Longwood 3: Junior Nicolette Tortorici scored six goals to lift Deer Park in non-league.Island Trees 17, MacArthur 8: Senior Emily Lucas had a career-high nine goals and two assists and freshman Natalie Sulmonte chipped in seven goals and two assists for Island Trees in non-league.
