Collector to run 1932 film ‘Love Me Tonight’
A local collector of vintage movie reels will show the 1932 film “Love Me Tonight” Thursday at Our Lady of Lourdes church in Massapequa Park.
Presentation of the musical comedy — starring Maurice Chevalier and Jeanette MacDonald and with music by Rodgers and Hart — is scheduled to begin at 7 p.m. in the church auditorium, 855 Carmans Rd.
Admission is free.
Parishioner John Carpenter, who has conducted film showings and lectures across Long Island, will hold a question-and-answer session after the film. He said he hopes the event will serve as a “tool of unification to recreate the neighborhood movie house feel.”
