Kelly McManmon scored 18 points and No. 16 St. John's won for the 11th time in 13 games and clinched a double-bye in the Big East Tournament with a 77-65 win over host Pittsburgh last night. Da'Shena Stevens added 17 points and 15 rebounds and Shenneika Smith had 16 points and 10 rebounds for the Red Storm (24-5, 12-4), which reached 24 wins in a season for the first time in 26 years. St. John's Nadirah McKenith had 14 assists, tying for the sixth-most in school history. Pitt is 16-13, 5-11.
Rams' Blakney honored
Farmingdale State senior guard Kimberly Blakney was named Skyline Conference Player of the Year for the second consecutive season. Farmingdale (25-1) plays Gettysburg College (22-4) Friday at Moravian (Pa.) in a first-round game of the NCAA Division III Tournament.
Blakney led Division III in scoring (25.8) and steals (6.0). She has 2,067 career points. Farmingdale coach Chris Mooney was named the Skyline's co-coach of the year with Randy Ognibene of Mount St. Mary.WOMEN'S LACROSSE
