Senior Michele Andrews threw a six-inning perfect game, the first of her career, as Commack beat Ward Melville, 12-0, in League I.

"Every pitch she threw was on the spot," Commack coach Harold Cooley said. "The defense was great behind her. By the fourth inning, you could tell she was locked in, smooth and relaxed. She was always ahead in the count."

Andrews had six strikeouts. The last out was recorded on a bunt attempt, and third baseman Lisa Rojas fielded it and threw to first for the out.

Nicole Hagenah went 1-for-3 with a grand slam and Sara DiCandia went 3-for-3 and was a home run short of the cycle.
