Comtech gets $2.4M contract for electronic jamming
A subsidiary of Melville-based Comtech Telecommunications Corp. has a new $2.4 million follow-on contract for electronic warfare jamming systems, the company said Tuesday.
Comtech PST Corp.'s contract is for broadband, solid-state, high power RF microwave amplifier systems. The parent company, in a statement, did not disclose the name of the buyer, saying only that it was an international manufacturer.
The amplifier systems include the latest solid-state switching and transistor technology, Comtech said. They provide for very broad frequency coverage and will be used as part of communications jamming systems, the company said.
Comtech president and chief executive Fred Kornberg said in a statement, "This follow-on order clearly demonstrates our continued leadership position in providing communications jamming technology and the ongoing need for our high-power broadband amplifiers that are utilized by major electronic warfare application programs in both domestic and international markets."
Kornberg added, "We anticipate additional orders from this customer later this year."
