Fox is talkin' but is Conan walkin'?

The network Monday confirmed it has reached out to "Tonight Show" host Conan O'Brien's representatives.

According to Fox Entertainment chief, Kevin Reilly, the network has held informal conversations [but] beyond that we are not free to talk about any other business proposition."

Before reporters at the Television Critics Association tour were blown away by the big news about Simon Cowell, they were ready to talk Conan: Will he join Fox? Could he join Fox? Will he join Fox?

Not so fast, Reilly pushed back.

"Unfortunately, there is not too much we can illuminate on this. We are kind of digesting it the same way you are. We are a little in the wow-ee mode right now."

He added: "I love Conan personally and professionally, but right now he has to make a decision about his future, and until he makes that decision there really is no conversation to be had."

Meanwhile, Fox announced that "Glee" received a second season pickup, while "Entertainment Tonight" reports that Olivia Newton-John will make a "special appearance" to perform "Physical" with the coach of the cheerleading squad, Sue Sylvester, played by Jane Lynch.
