Former Long Beach City Councilman Michael Fagen, who faces up to 4 years in prison in a larceny case, will appear at District Court in Nassau County on Friday to schedule his sentencing.

Fagen, who was convicted in February, was scheduled to appear before Judge Meryl Berkowitz for sentencing on Monday. But Berkowitz has not reviewed all of Fagen’s parole reports, and Monday’s sentencing was pushed back, said Fagen’s attorney, Marc Gann of Mineola.

Berkowitz will likely issue a new sentencing date on Friday, Gann said.

Fagen was removed from the Long Beach City council after being convicted of petty larceny and 18 counts of offering a false instrument for filing. Fagen illegally collected more than $15,000 in unemployment checks in 2010 while he was serving on the city council, a Nassau jury decided.

Jurors were split on the top charge against Fagen, which was grand larceny.
