Cops: Elmont man finds his car covered in bullet holes, graffiti
An Elmont man returned to his home on Saturday night to find his car covered in graffiti and riddled with bullet holes, Nassau police said.
The man notified police when he saw that his car, a 2000 Mercury, had been spray painted, police said.
Officers investigated and found "several shell casings" at the scene and "multiple bullet holes" in the vehicle, police said in a statement.
Police, who are treating the incident as a crime of reckless endangerment, did not release the man's name or address. The incident remains under investigation, police said.
Police are looking for suspects and ask anyone with information to call 1-800-244-TIPS. Callers will remain anonymous, police said.
