Cops: Lindenhurst man sent girl suggestive messages

The director of a Lindenhurst community theater group was arrested Monday by Nassau police who said he sent suggestive and/or inappropriate messages to a 14-year-old Hicksville girl.
Vincent Sparagano, 40, of South 9th St., Lindenhurst, was charged with endangering the welfare of a child, a class A misdemeanor. He was to be arraigned Tuesday in First District Court, Hempstead.
Sparagano met the girl through the theater organization, the “Spot Light Players,” police said, and sent her multiple computer messages that alarmed the girl, who then notified her parents.
Nassau police asked that anyone with knowledge of any similar incidents call Crime Stoppers at 800-244-TIPS.
