Cops: NYPD officer shoots suspect in wrist
A barricaded suspect was shot in the wrist when Emergency Service Unit officers broke through a Bronx apartment door Sunday night after more than two hours of unsuccessful negotiations, the NYPD said Monday.
Hassan King, 42, charged with assault, menacing, harassment and obstructing governmental administration, was taken to St. Barnabas Hospital in stable condition to be treated, police said.
King had punched a 22-year-old man in the face, and struck a 34-year-old woman, injuring her back, about 10:40 p.m., police said. Both were taken to St. Barnabas Hospital in stable condition, police said.
When officers breached the apartment door, one shot was fired by an officer, which struck King in the right wrist, police said.
