Nassau police want the public's help in finding whoever damaged two religious tableaux set up outside the Knights of Columbus in Bellmore.

A statue of St. Mary at 2333 Bellmore Ave. was broken in half in the first incident, which occurred sometime between 5 p.m. July 16 and 5 p.m. July 18, police said.

Then about 2 p.m. last Saturday, someone broke the plastic glass covering a Nativity scene set up at Bedford Avenue and Broadway, police said.

Police ask anyone with information on the vandalism to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-244-TIPS.
