Barbara Gulotta, a Long Island artist, uses her Twitter account to share her latest projects with her followers. Gulotta, of New Hyde Park, started tweeting about a year ago. She said an unexpected perk of getting on Twitter was finding others who share her interests in painting and illustrating. “I’ve found other people in the same area of expertise, and when I finish a piece I will announce it to them on Twitter,” she said.
