Courteney Cox, David Arquette separate
"Cougar Town" star Courteney Cox and her actor husband of 11 years, David Arquette, Monday confirmed a report that they have been separated "for some time."
Calling it "a trial separation," the two said in a statement that the split would help them "better understand ourselves and the qualities we need in a partner and for our marriage."
Cox, 46, and Arquette, 39, are the parents of a daughter, Coco, 6. The couple's statement stressed, "We remain best friends and responsible parents to our daughter and we still love each other deeply. As we go though this process we are determined to use kindness and understanding to get through this together."
The two appear to have remained close. They star together in the recently wrapped "Scream 4," reprising their roles from the original horror hit "Scream," where the two had met in 1996. Just days ago, the charitable organization OPCC debuted a humorous public service announcement starring Cox and Arquette in a giant bunny and squirrel suit, respectively.
TMZ.com, which reported the news after it broke in the gossip magazine In Touch Weekly, said news of the separation became public after photos surfaced of a woman with whom Arquette reportedly had been cheating. Earlier this year, rumors had circulated about Cox and her "Cougar Town" co-star, Brian Van Holt.
