BABYLON
Lane closures on Route 110
Route 110 in Babylon will be partially closed at night for about two weeks as work crews repair the roadway, state transportation officials said Friday.
Starting Sunday, two southbound lanes will be off limits from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m. between Route 24, which is Conklin Street, and the Southern State Parkway, officials said in an advisory.
Those lane closures will last about a week, followed by the closures of two northbound lanes for about a week, transportation officials said.
One travel lane will be open in each direction, the advisory said.
The preventive maintenance will prolong the life of this stretch of Route 110, one used by about 51,000 motorists each day, the state said.
The road closures may be canceled, postponed or prolonged because of weather, the advisory said.

BETHPAGE
Burglary suspect arrested
Nassau County police Friday announced the arrest of a suspect in a Bethpage house burglary that occurred in March.
Joseph V. Isola, 23, of 44 Miller Rd. in Bethpage, was charged with second-degree burglary in the theft of jewelry and electronics from a home on Norcross Avenue, police said.
Physical evidence led detectives to Isola, who was arrested without incident at 1 p.m. on Thursday, police said.
Isola broke into the house in March through a rear window, police said.
He was scheduled to be arraigned Friday in First District Court in Hempstead. His next court appearance is Tuesday, according to online court records.
