Cuomo speech strongly hints at his candidacy
Andrew Cuomo didn't declare his candidacy for governor Friday night but sure sounded like he was running.
Cuomo, the incumbent attorney general, blasted state government and said Democrats would fight corruption and end dysfunction. "This state is in drastic need of change and reform today - now," Cuomo bellowed to more than 300 people at the Democratic Rural Conference meeting in Niagara Falls.
Later, he denied he gave "a campaign speech" and refused to say if he was running for office this year. A recent poll by the Siena Research Institute found 49 percent of voters want Cuomo to declare his 2010 intentions.
