Gov. Andrew M. Cuomo sounded defensive when pressed by news media about using taxpayer money to hold three news conferences in one day in Western New York to announce the same bill-signing.

Cuomo in response to a reporter: "Why did your station spend money to send you here today?"

Reporter: "To ask you that question."

Cuomo: "It's my job to represent the people of the state. And it's my job to represent the people of Niagara Falls, and to represent the people of Buffalo, and to represent the people of Salamanca, and it's nice of you to say the people of Salamanca don't need to see the governor, or the people of Buffalo don't need to see the governor -- but that's really not up to you."-- Yancey Roy
