Gov. Andrew M. Cuomo raised the issue of global warming in discussing superstorm Sandy. He said he didn't want to talk about the "politics" of climate change, but that no one could deny there's been an increase in the frequency of extreme weather events.

That led Cuomo to make his own comparison with his father, Mario, the former governor with whom he's often compared.

"I've been governor less than two years," the younger Cuomo said during an interview on SiriusXM Radio, "and I've had to deal with more natural disasters than my father did in his 12 years."

Cuomo also said more than once last week that New York "has a 100-year flood every two years now." -- Yancey Roy
