Taylor Curran hit a three-run double to erase a one-run deficit in the top of the seventh inning Wednesday as No. 2 Plainedge beat No. 1 Island Trees, 4-1, in Game 1 of the best-of-three Nassau Class A final at Mitchel Athletic Complex.

Kim Nowak allowed seven hits in the complete-game victory for Plainedge (15-4). Game 2 will be played at Mitchel at 4 p.m. Thursday.

MacArthur 2, East Meadow 1: Kristin Daly's RBI single in the third scored gave No. 1 MacArthur (19-3) a 2-0 lead over No. 2 East Meadow (12-8) in Game 1 of the best-of-three Nassau Class AA final. Kristen Brown threw a two-hitter and Jena Cozza went 2-for-4. Game 2 is at 4 p.m. today at Mitchel.

Shoreham-Wading River 3, Miller Place 2: Chelsea Hawks scored on a wild pitch in the bottom of the ninth inning to win it for No. 4 SWR (15-6) over No. 5 Miller Place (11-8) in a Suffolk Class A quarterfinal. Hawks threw a four-hitter with 13 strikeouts and Madeline Massa went 2-for-4 with an RBI. SWR will visit No. 1 Sayville in the semifinals at 4 p.m. Friday.

Sayville 6, Rocky Point 0: Merissa Selts pitched a four-hitter with seven strikeouts as No. 1 Sayville (17-3) beat No. 8 Rocky Point. Emily Sellitti was 3-for-4 with a triple and two RBIs.

Islip 9, Bayport-Blue Point 3: Vanessa Juengerkes went 3-for-4 with a home run and four RBIs and allowed five hits and one earned run to lead No. 2 Islip (17-4) over No. 7 BBP (14-4) in a Suffolk Class A quarterfinal. Islip will host East Hampton in the semifinals at 4 p.m. Friday.

East Hampton 4, Mount Sinai 2: Ali Harned hit a two-run home run in the bottom of the sixth to cap a four-run inning for No. 3 East Hampton (14-5) against No. 6 Mt. Sinai.

Center Moriches 6, Hampton Bays 1: Erin Creen tossed a four-hitter and hit a two-run double in the second to lead No. 3 Center Moriches over No. 2 Hampton Bays in the Class B semifinals. CM will face No. 1 Babylon Friday in the first game of the best-of-three county final.
