Cyclists to ride for Guide Dog Foundation
Bicyclists are set to ride as many as 65 miles on Sunday to raise money for the Smithtown-based Guide Dog Foundation.
The 23rd annual Second Sight bike-a-thon is scheduled to start at 8 a.m. at the Foundation’s campus, 371 E. Jericho Tpke. Registration fees are $50 for individuals and $75 for families (two adults and two children up to age 17).
The ride, sponsored by the Suffolk Bicycle Riders Association, includes routes of varying distances, including one covering 65 miles and another of only 5 miles. All riders must wear helmets.
All routes end with a picnic lunch and tours of the foundation’s facility. The foundation trains service dogs for people who are blind, visually impaired or have special needs.
To register, visit Bike.GuideDog.org, call 631-930-9054 or email Jaime@guidedog.org.
