Cynthia Lau, October Nassau Scholar Artist

Cynthia Lau, a Hicksville High School senior, has significant talent in the visual arts that has brought numerous accolades including an Award of Excellence at the Long Island Art Teachers Association “Art in Heart” exhibition. She already has experience as a professional graphic designer with a logo she created for the Nassau Center for Health Initiatives.

Besides her artistic talents, Cynthia is an accomplished athlete and was named a scholar athlete on the Varsity Golf, Varsity Indoor Track, and Cross Country teams. She is involved in many school activities including the school newspaper, Ecology Club, Model UN and peer tutoring. Cynthia is also President of Hicksville High School’s National Honor Society and actively participates in the Art, Math, English and Spanish Honor Societies.
