Darlene D. Harris, Nassau District Court judge

DARLENE D. HARRISREPUBLICANBACKGROUND: Harris, 48, of Uniondale, is running on the Republican, Conservative, Independence and Tax Revolt Party lines. She is chairwoman of the Nassau County Assessment Review since 2010. She served from 1999 to 2010 as an administrative law judge for the New York City Department of Finance. She also ran her own law firm in Uniondale from 1997 to 2010. She served as a Nassau County legislator from 1996 to 1999 and was a deputy attorney for the Town of Hempstead from 1995 to 1996. Harris was a senior court attorney for the District Court Law Department from 1991 to 1994. She also has been a New York City and Nassau County Legal Aid attorney. Harris graduated from the University of Pennsylvania in 1986 and received her law degree from Hofstra University School of Law in 1989. She was admitted to the New York State bar that same year. She is a member of the New York State, Nassau County and Amistad bar associations.
