Dart, Giants' offense a work-in-progress under new coordinator Nagy

How would Jaxson Dart assess things after eight practices?

"I think the really good thing that I'm seeing right now with the offense is our communication after practices being able to fix adjustments for the next day," Dart told reporters on Thursday. "And that's really encouraging to see. And I think that if we just continue to do this process we'll be in a good spot."

The team has two more days in West Virginia before leaving on Saturday. The offense has been up-and-down so far as they adjust both to a new offense from coordinator Matt Nagy.

The Giants are installing plenty of new concepts so it's given Dart and the offense a heavy exposure of what to expect in-season. Coach John Harbaugh said the plan is for the coaches to throw as much as they can at the offense so they can develop quicker.

Dart also credited defensive coordinator Dennard Wilson's new schemes.

"While we're installing plays, a lot of times it's to exotic looks," Dart said. "And so, it's good for us to have that communication and it's good for us to make those adjustments and have those conversations so by the time we get into the season, we feel like we've seen a lot already."

Dart also addressed his side of throwing a ball at cornerback Greg Newsome after scoring a touchdown. It drew a penalty and Harbaugh said it was addressed during a team meeting.

Newsome said Wednesday he wasn't bothered by Dart's fiery nature. Dart took accountability but also downplayed any tension with Newsome.

"G-New's my brother. I mean, brothers compete, brothers get into it, and that's just part of the competitiveness that we have out here," Dart said. "It's a battle each and every day. It's a battle every single play, and I think that when you're in those environments, it just gets competitive.

"That's just kind of football, but at the same time you got to respect the fact that you hold each other accountable and you have those conversations, but we're competing."
