During training camp, the Giants’ offense has been a work in progress. Yes, they’re learning a new system but at times, they lacked chemistry and efficiency.

That’s why Thursday’s practice in Miami was a good step forward. The offense took more chances against the Dolphins and it paid off with big plays, including Dart connecting on a deep pass to rookie Malachi Fields.

“We're able to hit some big shots down the field, which I was really happy about,” Dart told reporters. “And then just the communication of the operation, I thought [went] really well. So, I think there's obviously things to learn from, but I think for the most part I was really happy how we came out.”

Things still need to click more over the next three weeks before the season opener. Dart credited the Giants’ defense for making things difficult for him leading up to the joint practice.

Yet perhaps that paid off with Dart having one of his better practice days. Progress isn’t linear but when it’s positive, that’s something Dart said he and the offense can build on even more.

"I think that we're just continually making adjustments, making corrections, installing new things, finding things that we're best at,” Dart said. “And I really feel like the past week, week and a half, we've really started to excel and take the right steps. And I think that that's really where you've seen our offense kind of mold into what we think it's really going to be.”
