FLORHAM PARK, N.J. – The Jets got a scare late in Saturday’s practice. First-round pick David Bailey hurt his ankle, limped off and was checked by trainers. But Aaron Glenn said, “he’ll be fine."

Bailey, the second overall pick in the draft, fell during a pass-rush down in competitive periods. He was slow to get up and then walked gingerly to the sideline where he was looked at by trainers. A few minutes later, Bailey hopped up and down, moved side-to-side and then jogged back and forth on a side field.

Glenn characterized Bailey as “day-to-day,” and was encouraged that he was up and jogging.

"I’d say he’s day to day, but let me make sure," Glenn said. "He got up and he jogged so I would think he’d be that."

Bailey has been impressive in his first NFL training camp. He had one sack Saturday - and should have had another. Bailey also had some pressures and made plays in the run game.

The Jets have the next two days off before they hold two days of joint practices with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
