Deer Park Eduardo Rodriguez showed up at the Farmingdale LIRR station on Sunday afternoon planning go to New York City and hang out with friends.
Those plans blew up when his Uber driver told him the train wasn’t running.
“The Uber guy was the one who told me that they (LIRR) went on a strike. I was like, ‘really?’” he said. “It just took me by surprise. But in the end, what can you do?”
Rodriguez looked up how much an Uber to the city would cost him while speaking with Newsday. The total charge, he said, would be about $100.
“I am probably going to try to get an Uber and go to the city,” he said, but added “I don’t know what I am going to do.”
