Defending champ out
Massapequa's defending state champion Jon Tutku (at 103 pounds) failed to make weight at 110 pounds and was disqualified from the 63rd edition of the state tournament in Albany on Friday, according to Nassau wrestling assistant chairman Ed Ramirez.
Tutku, the three seed, was 34-2 and the Nassau County champion.
Long Beach's Ethan Andreula jumped up from the No. 4 seed to the top seed, North Babylon's Xavier Seabury moved down to the No. 2 seed and Newburgh Free Academy's Will Soto is the No. 3 seed. Tutku won a 1-0 decision over Andreula in the Nassau final.
