Deng gets 2-year deal from Heat
Free-agent forward Luol Deng agreed to a two-year, $20-million deal with the Miami Heat yesterday, said Herb Rudoy, one of Deng's agents.
The deal includes a player option for the 2015-16 season, Rudoy said.
Deng, 29, a two-time All-Star, is entering his 11th NBA season after spending almost his entire career with the Chicago Bulls.
He appeared in 40 games with the Cleveland Cavaliers after a trade last season.
He fills a need in Miami, which lost LeBron James last week after the four-time NBA MVP left the Heat after four seasons and returned to the Cavaliers.
Deng has averaged 16.0 points per game in his career after being chosen No. 7 overall from Duke in the 2004 draft.
Parsons a Mav at last
Chandler Parsons is going to the Dallas Mavericks after the Houston Rockets decided not to match the restricted free agent's three-year offer sheet worth more than $45 million. Parsons tweeted that he had heard from the Rockets. The 6-9 small forward wrote that Houston will always have a special place in his heart and that he will never forget the memories.

A person familiar with the contract says free-agent point guard Brian Roberts has agreed to a two-year, $5.5-million deal with the Charlotte Hornets. The 6-1, 173-pound Roberts, 28, will back up Kemba Walker. Entering his third NBA season, Roberts has started 47 games and averaged 8.2 points and 3.0 assists in 19.9 minutes per game. -- AP
