Lauren Descalzo hit a layup off a feed from Lindsey Alfano with 4.5 seconds left to lift No. 10 Hauppauge to a 42-41 win over seventh-seeded Lindenhurst in a Suffolk girls Class AA first-round playoff game Monday.

Julie Williams scored eight of her 18 points in the fourth quarter, including a three-pointer with 45 seconds left for the Eagles (14-5), who overcame a 12-point deficit with 2:28 left. Williams' three cut the lead to 41-40.

Descalzo had eight points, eight rebounds and six assists, and Stephanie Peragallo and Alfano scored seven points each. Colleen Ames had 13 points for Lindenhurst. Hauppauge will play at No. 2 North Babylon in a quarterfinal on Thursday.North Babylon 83, Sachem North 36: Charise Wilson notched her second triple-double of the season with 28 points, 10 rebounds, 10 steals and three steals for No. 2 North Babylon (19-0) against No. 15 Sachem North. Tamara Simpson chipped in 11 points and five rebounds.Riverhead 52, Floyd 48: Shaniece Allen scored seven straight points in the final 1:50 of play, including a go-ahead free throw with 50 seconds left to help No. 6 Riverhead (14-5) overcome a 48-42 deficit to defeat No. 11 Floyd. Riverhead's Jalyn Brown had 15 points, including a three-point play with 1:52 left that cut Floyd's lead to 45-42. Allen finished with 18 points and 10 steals and Melodee Riley chipped in 15 points. Riverhead will play at No. 3 Sachem East in a quarterfinal on Thursday at 6 p.m.

Sachem East 45, Comsewogue 34: Meagan Doherty had 16 points and 10 rebounds to lead No. 3 Sachem East (16-3) over No. 14 Comsewogue in the first round of the Suffolk Class AA girls basketball playoffs. Whitman 71, Bellport 55: Senior Alexandra Leftridge had 21 of her career-high 32 points during a 44-22 first half to go with 11 rebounds and Rachel Perea added 15 points to lead No. 5 Whitman (16-3) over No. 12 Bellport in the first round of the Suffolk Class AA girls basketball playoffs. Arella Guirantes had 19 points for Bellport. Whitman plays at No. 4 Deer Park in a quarterfinal on Thursday at 5 p.m.

Deer Park 48, Connetquot 27: Shayna Robinson scored all 17 of her points in the first half and Kelsey Dillon had nine points and 12 rebounds to lead No. 4 Deer Park (17-2) over No. 13 Connetquot. Northport 56, Smithtown East 30: Megan Marinelli had 16 points and Allie Clarke and Chrystal Pope added nine points each for No. 1 Northport (19-0). Nicole Shevlin led Smithtown East with 16 points. Northport will host No. 8 Copiague in a quarterfinal on Thursday at 6 p.m.
