Julie Devlin went 4-for-4 with two triples and three RBIs and Sam Kaplan struck out 14 in a complete game to lead top-seeded Portledge to an 11-4 victory over No. 2 Long Island Lutheran yesterday in the IPPSAL softball final.

Portledge third baseman Natalie Flammia sealed the first softball title for the three-year-old program by throwing out the final runner at home plate.

Portledge finished the season at 13-0.

BASEBALL

Mercy 13, Port Jefferson 2: Tom Tenaglia allowed two earned runs in 52/3 innings and Rocco Pascale went 3-for-4 with a home run and five RBIs to lead to lead No. 1 Mercy (13-6) in Game 1 of the best-of-three Suffolk Class C baseball final. Game 2 is at 4 p.m. Thursday at Port Jefferson.

BOYS VOLLEYBALL

Massapequa 3, Long Beach 0:Brian Smith had 10 kills and 18 assists and Christian Smith added 13 kills, 17 assists and five aces to lead No. 1 Massapequa, 30-28, 25-17, 25-21, over No. 4 Long Beach in a Nassau Class A semifinal. Massapequa (18-0) plays No. 3 Port Washington in the finals at 6:30 p.m. Thursday at Adelphi.

BOYS Badminton

Suffolk individual championships. Miller Place's Jesse Dietrichson, who won his quarterfinal match, 15-17, 15-5, 15-11, will take on Smithtown West's Justin Lin, who won 15-9, 15-3, in the Suffolk singles semifinals Thursday at Smithtown West. The other semifinal features Whitman's Matt Simeone against Smithtown East's Eric Hirschfeld.GIRLS Badminton

Suffolk individual championships. Smithtown West's Christina Fiore won her quarterfinal match, 11-1, 11-5, and will meet Whitman's Kristina Maimis, who won her match, 11-3, 11-3, in today's Suffolk singles semifinals at Smithtown West. The other semifinal has Half Hollow Hills' Hannah Finger against Miller Place's Liz Paturalski.
