Disabilities experts will be on hand Tuesday to offer legal and financial advice for parents of special-needs children.
The event, hosted by state Sen. Jack Martins (R-Mineola), includes disability experts Andrew Cohen, an attorney, and Mitch Weisbrot, a financial adviser. It will be held at Mineola Village Hall, 155 Washington Ave., from 7 to 9 p.m.
The experts will speak about legal and financial protections that are key to parents of special-needs children, Martins’ office said in a news release.
The seminar will cover a variety of subjects, among them: government benefits available for individuals with disabilities; establishing guardianship; estate planning and wills; and strategies for funding trusts.
