Dittler has other irons in the fire

Jake Dittler might have found himself on the greens instead of a pitcher's mound had his life not been consumed by baseball. His job prevents him from playing golf regularly, but when he does, he's been known to shoot in the low 80s and even high 70s.

The 27-year-old pitcher and Las Vegas resident originally was chosen by the Indians in the second round of the 2001 draft and spent seven seasons in their system. Now in his second season with the Ducks, Dittler is 7-6 with a 5.03 ERA.

"Getting the win in the championship game in Double-A with the Akron Aeros."

"I'm always pacing around like I'm nervous. I'm not, but they just get on me about it."

"Junk food late at night."

What's the last song you played on your iPod? "Eminem's 'Cinderella Man.' "

What television shows do you DVR?

" 'Pardon the Interruption' is the only one I record. Other than that, I wait until it comes out on DVD to watch it. 'Entourage,' 'Lost,' 'Nip/Tuck.' Shows like that."

What's your favorite memory of George Steinbrenner?

"Portraying his character on Seinfeld."
