After drowning out the Suffolk competition earlier this month, the Dix Hills Water District beat out the Nassau champion, Westbury Water District, to win Long Island’s best-tasting water title.

The Huntington Town-run district beat Westbury, 32-23, in a blind taste test conducted at the May 24 meeting of the Long Island Water Conference.

Dix Hills now goes on to the statewide competition, which is sponsored by the State Department of Health and held at the end of the summer in conjunction with the New York State Fair.
