Lisa Delvecchio spent her 28th birthday dancing to the sounds of Rob Base’s “It Takes Two” and enjoying wine at Vineyard 48 in Cutchogue.

The Bay Shore woman was one of the dozens dancing and drinking Saturday at the vineyard’s weekly Dance Through the Vines event.

“This place is so much fun.,” Delvecchio said. “This vineyard is the best, and the peach wine is really good, it tastes so yummy.”

Vineyard 48 manager Dale Suter couldn’t be happier about the visitors’ reactions to the event that takes place from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. every Saturday.

“Most of the other vineyards had acoustic bands, and we wanted to put a different spin on it,” said Suter, of Greenport. “Our mission is to have a good time.”

The winery situated on 35 acres offers a variety of wines including merlot, cabernet sauvignon, chardonnay, riesling and Sauvignon Blanc. And since the inception of Dance Through The Vines about a year ago, business has seen a boost.

“About one hundred people would come through on a Saturday, and now we are up to 1,000 people coming through here on a Saturday,” said Suter. “We are known as the fun vineyard.”

DJ Beware, also known as William Ware, kept the wine enthusiasts grooving as he played dance, hip hop, R&B old school pop music.

Franklin Square resident Kyle Smith decided that Vineyard 48 would be a good place for a date so he brought his girlfriend, Rachele Testa, of Connecticut.

“We love it here,” Smith said. “The music is great and the Cabernet that I tasted was very good.”
