This was one nifty day for Aaron Harang and the Los Angeles Dodgers. It was simply more of the same for the sliding Philadelphia Phillies.

Harang (5-3) pitched six effective innings to earn his 100th victory and the Dodgers won, 8-3, yesterday to complete their first four-game sweep in Philadelphia in 66 years.

Juan Rivera, Jerry Hairston Jr., Matt Treanor and James Loney had two hits apiece for the Dodgers, who had not swept a four-game series at Philadelphia since Brooklyn accomplished the feat from May 24-26, 1946, according to STATS LLC.

Manager Don Mattingly was not aware of the significance of the sweep until told by reporters afterward, and acknowledged it was "pretty cool. We really just got the momentum going here," he said.

Los Angeles, which improved its major league-best record to 37-21, scored three runs in the sixth to take a 4-3 lead, then broke it open with four more runs in the ninth.

The last-place Phillies (28-31) have lost six straight. They are 12-19 at Citizens Bank Park for the worst home mark in the NL.

Giants 8, Padres 3: Matt Cain (7-2) struck out nine in seven innings to win his sixth straight start and Buster Posey, Angel Pagan and Gregor Blanco homered at PETCO Park.

Brewers 4, Cubs 3: Norichika Aoki homered twice, including off Casey Coleman (0-1) to lead off the 10th inning to win it for host Milwaukee.

Red Sox 7, Orioles 0: Clay Buchholz pitched a four-hitter for his third career shutout -- all against Baltimore -- as host Boston stopped a three-game losing streak.

Buchholz (6-2) struck out six and walked one, throwing 125 pitches, two shy of his career high. Adrian Gonzalez had three hits and two RBIs for the Red Sox.

White Sox 4, Blue Jays 3: Orlando Hudson singled in the winning run with two outs in the ninth for host Chicago.

Athletics 7, Rangers 1: Coco Crisp hit a solo homer and bases-loaded triple as host Oakland won its first series in more than a month.

Brandon McCarthy (5-3) won his fifth straight decision as the A's took three of four against Texas.

Yu Darvish (7-4) gave up six runs, six hits and six walks in 5 1/3 innings.

Tigers 7, Indians 5: Miguel Cabrera homered, Brennan Boesch had two hits and Casey Crosby earned his first major-league win for host Detroit.
