Don't cut funds for family planning

I'm disgusted that the House of Representatives actually thinks it's a good idea to cut Planned Parenthood's funding ["Cooler heads keep talking," Editorial, March 1]. In the end, it will only hurt our country.
When there are more sexually active teenage girls, and fewer places to get birth control, it will add to the list of families living off our tax dollars.
Of course it's understandable that many people are not happy with their taxes being used to support abortions, which I agree with. But it's best they're done safely. Abortions will always happen, no matter if the law says they're legal or illegal.
It doesn't make it right, but in this country right now, abortion is a woman's choice.
